Mobile Health Consult Employee Assistance Program (MHCEAP)

Mobile Health Consult Employee Assistance Program (MHCEAP) is a problem-solving and confidential service, to help employees at all levels and various descriptions, that has personal difficulties which affect their job performance and personal well-being. In most cases family members of the employee are also helped to solve crisis if the problem facing the employee is a family related one.  MHCEAP is usually a short term mental health counseling therapy, but if a long-term help or a more specialized service is needed, it can also be provided. Employee Assistance Programs are designed to help employees understand and overcome their difficulties regardless if the source is work, family, or society.

Employers have a responsibility to support employees and contribute to their wellbeing. MHCEAP is of vital benefit to managers, business owners and employees. It has broken down its concerns to cater for the following challenges faced by employees:

PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST AID

Psychological First Aid is an evidence-informed modular approach to help children, adolescents, adults, and families in the immediate aftermath of disaster and terrorism. Our psychological first aid service is designed to reduce the initial distress caused by traumatic events and to foster short and long-term adaptive functioning and coping.

We provide the following services for psychological first aid;

  • Establish a human connection in a non-intrusive and compassionate manner.
  • Enhance immediate and ongoing safety, and provide physical and emotional comfort.
  • Offer practical assistance and information to help survivors address their immediate needs and concerns.
  • Connect survivors as soon as possible to social support networks, including family members, friends, neighbours, and community helping resources.
  • Provide adaptive coping skills, acknowledge coping efforts and strengths, and empower survivors; encourage adults, children, and families to take an active role in their recovery.
  • Provide information that may help survivors cope effectively with the psychological impact of disasters.
